LunchyMenu

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about menus, schools, printing, and corrections.

What is LunchyMenu?

LunchyMenu provides a fun and convenient way to view school lunch menus on phones, computers, and one-page printouts for schools in the Lower Merion School District.

Where does the menu information come from?

LunchyMenu reads the public LMSD menus published through SchoolCafe and presents them in a simpler family-focused layout.

How is LunchyMenu connected to Lower Merion or SchoolCafe?

LunchyMenu is not affiliated with Lower Merion School District, any individual school, or SchoolCafe. It is built by a local parent and two students as a convenience for families in the Lower Merion community.

Is LunchyMenu available for schools outside the Lower Merion School District?

Not currently. LunchyMenu is available only for schools in the Lower Merion School District.

Is LunchyMenu the official school menu?

No. LunchyMenu periodically updates from the official school menus and provides a friendlier view of the menus your household uses most. SchoolCafe remains the official source for last-minute changes, ingredients, allergens, and nutrition information. Visit SchoolCafe for LMSD for the most detailed information.

Do you have an app?

LunchyMenu is not currently available through the App Store or Google Play, but you can easily add LunchyMenu to your Home Screen. It gets its own LunchyMenu icon and opens much like a regular app.

Do you collect my data?

LunchyMenu collects limited, non-identifying usage information—such as page and menu views, general device or browser type, approximate country and state or region, and a random browser identifier—to help us improve the site. We do not retain your IP address, precise location, postal code, or coordinates, and the identifier is not tied to a name or account. If you voluntarily include an email address with feedback, we use it only to respond to that submission.

Do you make money from LunchyMenu?

Not currently. LunchyMenu is a labor of love and a hobby project built by a local parent and two students. In the future, we may consider a small number of tasteful, clearly labeled sponsorships to help cover hosting and upkeep. Sponsorships would not influence menu information or use personal data for targeting.

Why is a day or month empty?

The school may not have published that menu yet, the school may be closed, or the data may have been temporarily unavailable when menus were collected. If you believe there is an error, please provide feedback.

Can I follow more than one school?

Yes. Choose any number of schools in Settings. Your default opens first, and the others appear as tabs for quick switching.

Why did I lose my school selections or settings?

LunchyMenu saves your schools, default school, light or dark mode, display size, and print settings in the browser you are currently using. These preferences do not currently sync between browsers or devices. If you switch to a different browser or device, or clear your cookies or site data, you will need to choose them again.

How does printing work?

The monthly calendar includes a Print button and uses a paper-friendly layout. In Settings, choose Standard for most printers, Compact for printers that require wider margins, or Large for printers that accept narrow margins.

Why won't my menu print on one page?

Choose Compact under Printing Size in Settings. If it still does not fit on one page, reduce the scaling in your device's print dialog to 95%, 90%, or lower until the preview fits. Standard is recommended for most printers because it provides larger text and food icons.

What should I do if something looks wrong?

Use Provide Feedback and include the school, date, and what looks incorrect. That makes the issue much easier to track down.

I have a great idea to make LunchyMenu better!

We would love to hear it. Please use Provide Feedback and tell us about your idea.
